The word “Gingirikani” means “work hard” and this popular women’s lifestyle magazine show encourages women from all ages to do exactly that: to take a proactive approach to their own destiny. Featured topics include women’s general wellbeing and health, fashion, décor, culture, travel and socio-economic issues, all aimed at empowering women to do more and be more. The edutainment content is beautifully blended with soulful contemporary music such as Afro pop, gospel, RNB and reggae.

Khensani Nyango (Host): A contagiously energetic radio professional, Khensani Nyango’s career took off at varsity, where she was a part-time presenter at the newly launched Phalaborwa Community Radio Station. As a result, she was discovered by Capricorn FM, who reeled her in to present their mid-morning show Silky Touch from 2009 – 2011. She was then scooped up by Munghana Lonene FM, where she was first involved in the afternoon drive show Mphensa-Mphensa, before she joined Gingirikani as host in 2012. Her opinion on her radio career? “I didn’t choose radio, radio chose me.”

Based in Bloemfontein, Lesedi FM broadcasts to the Sesotho speaking and understanding communities in South Africa. As a participatory radio station, Lesedi FM provides regular programming covering matters that have a direct bearing on the development of its listeners in South Africa and spilling all the way into Lesotho. The station brings its audiences programming that supports the growth and empowerment of listeners while keeping traditional values relevant in a contemporary environment.
