Show Synopsis

 

The Youth Programme is an afternoon show that aims to preserve, uplift and develop members of the youth from the Xun and Khwe groups. The programme features kids’ stories and youth related topics such as the typical challenges that the youth are faced with. This is all dished up with a generous helping of entertainment in the form of music dedications, requests and friends’ shout out.

Elemia Ridgele (Host): Elemia Ridgeley is a young and dynamic radio host with more than five years of broadcasting experience. Schmidtsdrift born and bred, she also completed her schooling at the Schmidtsdrift SAN Combined School. After matriculating, she became a loveLife groundBreaker (peer educator), who was involved in community development programmes, which also required of her to conduct motivation talks. Before she was recruited by the SABC, she also covered election news for the SAN community. She is committed to continue honing her broadcasting skills.

Based in Bloemfontein, Lesedi FM broadcasts to the Sesotho speaking and understanding communities in South Africa. As a participatory radio station, Lesedi FM provides regular programming covering matters that have a direct bearing on the development of its listeners in South Africa and spilling all the way into Lesotho. The station brings its audiences programming that supports the growth and empowerment of listeners while keeping traditional values relevant in a contemporary environment.
